Franz Waxman (December 24, 1906 - February 24, 1967), born Franz Wachsmann, was the German-born Jewish-American composer of music for films. withwithin the early Thirties he wrote scores for many German films, however experienced arrived in America by 1935 when working briefly in France. He received Xii Academy Award nominations, winning in sequentially years for Sunset Boulevard and A Place in the Sun.
